3 year old solves Rubik's Cube, Emily Gittemeier

3 year old Emily Gittemeier solves the cube for the second time, the first was just minutes prior to this video being shot. She learned by copying her brothers and practicing the steps.
Order of steps in which she learned to solve the Cube:
1) 2 look OLLs, 4 easy ones she knows as "Big Fish", "Little Fish", "Double Fish", and "No Fish". If she got one of the other 3 she didnt know she would just perform the Little Fish algorithm until she got one of the 4 she knew.
2) Yellow Cross on top, perform just one algorithm she knows as the "Line" 1 to 3 times until she got the Cross.
3) White Cross on bottom, beginner method.
4) First Layer insert corners, "slap the white" memory trick.
5) Second Layer, chase the edge, pair up and reinsert, (slap it again).
6) Last Layer - fix the corners, perform one algorithm 1-2 times until corners correct.
7) Last Layer - fix the edges, one algorithm 1-3 times.
This is how she learned to solve the Rubiks Cube. This may seem out of order but we had no intention of teaching her to solve it at that age as we didnt think it was possible. She started by watching her brothers practice 2 look OLLs and copying them. It was after seeing how easily she learned the OLLs and her desire to solve it that we realized she would likely be able to solve it.
Slapping the Cube was a memory trick, no longer needed but helpful at the time.
Algorithms:
Big Fish- R U2i Ri Ui R Ui Ri
Little Fish- R U Ri U R U2 Ri (inverse of BF)
Double Fish- Little Fish twice
No Fish- R U2i R2 Ui R2 Ui R2 U2i R
(She likes the song Down by the Water by PJ Harvey)
Yellow Cross Line- F R U Ri Ui Fi
Last Layer corners- x Ri U Ri D2 R Ui Ri D2 R2 xi
Last Layer edges- R2 U R U Ri Ui Ri Ui Ri U Ri
The kids are going to shoot a solve video "How to solve Rubik's Cube so easy a 3 year old can do it".
3 Year Old Solves Rubik's Cube 2x2 in 15 seconds, Emily Gittemeier

3 year old Emily Gittemeier solves Rubik's 2x2 in 15 seconds. She beat both her older brothers for the fastest time. She averages about 30 seconds but got a lucky skip this time, note the surprised reaction when she sees that its fully solved!
This is an Eastsheen brand 2x2 Cube. In some ways the 2x2 is harder and more confusing than the 3x3 because there are no center pieces to establish the color of that side. At least for a 3 year old in can.
Emily Gittemeier learned to solve the Rubik's Cube by watching and copying her older brothers Justin Gittemeier & Ryan Gittemeier.

3 year old Emily Gittemeier solves the Rubik's 2x2 Cube in 27 seconds on the first solve and 42 seconds the second solve. She wants an Eastsheen 4x4 and 5x5 for her 4th birthday as a reward for learning the 2x2 and 3x3.

This is how a 3 year old learns how to solve a Rubik's Cube, repetition.
3 yr old Emily Gittemeier practices three different 2 look OLLs (Little Fish, Double Fish & Big Fish) while her brother times her.
The first 3 cubes require the algorithm she knows as "Little Fish", The next 3 cubes "Double Fish" & last 2 "Big Fish".
She messed up the first "Big Fish" (8th cube) but was able to correct the mistake then she messed up the second "Big Fish" and needed help.
At the time of the video she hadnt yet attempted to solve the entire cube, but a few weeks after this was shot she put all the steps together and solved it on her first attempt.
Algorithms:
Big Fish- R U2i Ri Ui R Ui Ri
Little Fish- R U Ri U R U2 Ri (inverse of BF)
Double Fish- Little Fish twice
No Fish- R U2i R2 Ui R2 Ui R2 U2i R

59 second solve with beginner/intermediate method, 2 look OLL/PLLs.
Sub 1 minute solves are attainable with beginner method which is pretty easy to learn.
So easy his sister learned to do it at 3 years old by watching and copying her brothers and then by practicing with repetition.
